A Los Angeles Superior Court jury today found in favor of a Ellis George client who had been sued by a competitor. The plaintiff alleged that its main customer had conspired with one of plaintiff’s employees to set up a competing business, solicit plaintiff’s other employees for that new business, and divert the customer’s business to that new competitor. Ellis George first obtained summary judgment on behalf of its clients, the customer and its principal, establishing there was no evidence they had engaged in any wrongdoing. Ellis George partner Pete Ross then took over representation of the new competing business and, after a month-long trial, obtained a complete defense verdict in favor of the competitor.
