A federal judge has tossed Democratic donor and former gubernational hopeful Stephen J. Cloobeck’s trademark lawsuit against rival candidate Antonio R. Villaraigosa, ruling that the phrase “proven problem solver” is generic political language that cannot be monopolized by any one candidate.
