On May 11, 2020, Ellis George attorneys secured an early victory by freezing more than $3.7 million in assets allegedly held by a Russian oligarch accused of driving a California cannabis business into the ground. Ellis George client—former Green Beret Francis Racioppi Jr.—has alleged that defendants Dmitry Borisovich Bosov and Gary I. Shinder had wrongfully ousted him from the business after Racioppi blew the whistle on company mismanagement and improperly withheld compensation he was owed under the terms of his employment contract.
Magistrate Judge Jacqueline Chooljian issued the order, which bars Bosov and 20 allegedly affiliated companies from transferring the $3.7 million in assets.
Ellis George attorneys Thomas P. O’Brien, Jennie Wang VonCannon, David J. Carroll and Nathan F. Brown represent Racioppi.
