Governor Gavin Newsom today released the names of the individuals who will help him choose California judges. Among them is Ellis George partner Eric M. George, who will serve as one of four private practitioners on the Los Angeles Judicial Selection Advisory Committee. The committee, which consists of 17 members, is comprised mostly of California state judges and is one of eight regional committees throughout the state. The committees are responsible for reviewing judicial candidates before forwarding their names to the Governor. “Judges make decisions every day that affect every Californian,” said Governor Newsom. “I thank the new members of the Judicial Selection Advisory Committees for taking on this essential function of our democracy.”
This will be the second time George has been bestowed this honor, having served as a judicial selection advisory committee member under Governor Jerry Brown as well.
