Ellis George LLP is pleased to announce Timothy J. Shea will join the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Shea most recently served as Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Acting Administrator and before that as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
“Tim’s high level government service, including at the Justice Department and as U.S. Attorney combined with previous private sector experience at two international law firms, adds to the firm’s unparalleled legal talent in white collar and government investigations,” said Managing Partner Keith Wesley. “Tim’s addition complements and bolsters our already top-notch group led by former U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Tom O’Brien.”
Mr. Shea has extensive government service at the highest levels with experience conducting civil, criminal, and congressional investigations, trying cases, and supervising regulation on the state and federal levels, including significant regulatory responsibilities while leading DEA.
“Tim is an outstanding addition to the firm. He has 20 years’ experience in private practice handling complex matters and multistate investigations involving state attorneys general, delivering results for many clients,” said Governor Pete Wilson, Of Counsel in the firm’s Los Angeles office. “I worked with Tim for many years, and he understands how to manage litigation, as well as political and public policy challenges when clients face actions by the states.”
Mr. Shea will focus on corporate and internal investigations, regulatory matters, federal and state investigations, including enforcement actions, regulatory activities, and public policy activities by state attorneys general.
