Maxwell R. Votey is an Associate in Ellis George’s New York office. Mr. Votey previously worked in corporate transactional law, structuring debt finance matters for private equity clients including secured transactions, syndicated loan facilities, net asset value (NAV)-based facilities, subscription credit facilities and capital call lines of credit.
As a legal intern for the Surveillance Technology Oversight project (STOP), Mr. Votey conducted legal research and assisted in the drafting of briefs and motions in ongoing litigation challenging data collection practices by law enforcement agencies and corporations.
He has also served as an intern for the International Bureau of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague, Netherlands, which manages one of the largest and oldest international arbitration bodies in the world. There he drafted legal research and writing for arbitration cases dealing with legal subject matter ranging from inter-state to investor-state disputes.
