Alex Markoff is an Associate in Ellis George LLP’s Los Angeles office where he handles complex disputes from inception through resolution.
Alex demonstrates particular proficiency when advising clients in actions involving the government. At Ellis George, Alex was part of a team that defended a national news outlet in two politically-charged defamation cases. He has also advised clients testifying before federal agencies and congress, and has experience representing household brands in regulatory disputes.
Prior to joining Ellis George, Alex was an active duty Captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG). In that role, he prosecuted military cases and served as legal counsel to military commanders across Asia-Pacific including Hawaii, Guam, and South Korea. Alex also served as a legal advisor to the United Nations during a multinational training exercise. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for exceptional service as a uniformed attorney.
Alex graduated from the George Washington University, summa cum laude, and earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law with a focus in constitutional law.
