Mona Sedky is an experienced trial lawyer who has handled a wide variety of high-stakes investigations and litigation for nearly three decades. Her practice focuses on trial work, complex civil litigation, investigations, government enforcement, white collar defense, and cybersecurity & data privacy for individuals and entities.
Before joining the firm, Mona was a federal prosecutor for 18 years with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C., where she investigated and prosecuted complex criminal cases involving domestic and international wire, bank, and securities fraud, cryptocurrency theft, extortion, money laundering, cybercrime, cyberstalking, image-based sexual abuse/non-consensual distribution of intimate images, and child sexual exploitation. While at both the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of Main Justice and the Fraud/Cyber Section of the D.C. U.S Attorney’s Office, she conducted dozens of grand jury presentations and numerous multi-week jury trials in federal courts around the country. Before becoming a federal prosecutor, she spent a decade as a civil litigator, first in Los Angeles with a global law firm and then in D.C. with the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, where she investigated, litigated, and supervised cases involving unfair and deceptive business practices.
Mona regularly speaks about and presents on emerging digital evidence, cybersecurity, and data privacy issues. She has presented at industry conferences like SXSW, RSA, and IAPP and at numerous national and international training seminars for investigators, prosecutors, and judges. For each of the past ten years, she has served as a guest evidence instructor at Georgetown University Law Center.
Mona was selected for Forbes “America’s Top 50 Women in Tech” and has received awards from, among others, the U.S. Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General, the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, and the FTC Chairman.
