Oscar Alvarez advises clients on high-stakes business disputes and complex litigation across the country, with a focus on class actions and trial strategy. He has represented a wide range of clients—from individuals to Fortune 100 companies—across industries including oil and gas, social media technology, and retail. His experience spans claims involving defamation, consumer protection, breach of contract, unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, copyright and trademark infringement, and fraud.
He is well-versed in all stages of litigation, including case assessment, complaint drafting, dispositive motion practice, discovery disputes, and seeking provisional remedies. His written advocacy has been adopted in court orders, and he is often relied on for precision briefing in high-stakes matters.
Oscar began his career at an international firm and later practiced at an Am Law 200 platform, gaining national experience in class actions and arbitrations. Before joining Ellis George, he served as the sole associate at a trial boutique, where he led discovery and briefing strategy in complex commercial disputes.
Oscar earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law on a full-tuition scholarship. While there, he served as Chief Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology, Managing Editor of the Journal of Environmental Law and Policy, and externed for the Hon. Terry J. Hatter Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
