Partner M. Cris Armenta recently wrote a column, “Why lawyers make great advocates for the families of missing children,” published in the Daily Journal. In her column, Armenta draws on her rewarding experiences finding missing children in California, a state which “outranks every state in the nation in the number of persons reported missing each year.” Armenta points out how lawyers are trained advocates for families of missing children when dealing with law enforcement. Furthermore, Armenta explains how despite existing federal laws on reporting missing children, families are given waiting periods to find their loved ones which “seriously harms any investigation.” To read the full column, click here.
