California’s venerable legal publication, The Daily Journal, has named Maribeth Annaguey to its list of 2021 Top Women Lawyers in California. The Daily Journal profile of Annaguey highlights her recent elevation to named partner of the firm, her successes as lead counsel for high-profile clients in complex disputes, and her work both within the firm and the community on issues of diversity. Annaguey is quoted in the profile: “I want to encourage all people, particularly women and attorneys of color, to be who you are . . . It’s really important that you identify your core values, and stay true to them. There are certain notions out there about what a lawyer has to be, and how a lawyer has to behave in order to succeed and get clients and move up the ranks but I think you’ve got to really find your own voice and stick to it and be confident and deliberate in that.” Regarding Annaguey’s selection to the list, Ellis George managing partner, Keith Wesley, remarked: “Maribeth is the rare lawyer whose legal talents and ability are surpassed only by her humility and grace. We congratulate her on an honor that is well-deserved.”
