Ellis George client, ListReports, today announced “complete victory” in a three-year trade secret and false advertising lawsuit brought by a competitor, Home Buyers Marketing (“HBM”). ListReports is an Orange County-based online real estate marketing service used by hundreds of thousands of real estate professionals nationwide. In 2016, Minnesota-based HBM sued ListReports in federal court for trade secret misappropriation, false advertising, and related business torts. HBM sought damages “in excess of $50,000,000.00.” After nearly two years of litigation, ListReports retained Ellis George to take over its representation. With Ellis George’s summary judgment motion pending and set to be heard in September, HBM dismissed the lawsuit in its entirety with prejudice. Ellis George lawyers Keith J. Wesley, Kathryn McCann, Lori Brody, Matthew Venezia, and Jacob Sarabian represented ListReports. Below is a link to ListReports’s press release announcing the win.
