Former United States Attorney for the Central District of California, Thomas P. O’Brien, has joined Ellis George as a partner in its Los Angeles office.  O’Brien – a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and former federal prosecutor – headed the Los Angeles U.S. attorney’s office in the late 2000s before transitioning to private practice as leader of Paul Hastings’ West Coast white-collar defense practice.  While at Paul Hastings, O’Brien chaired the firm’s Los Angeles litigation department and regularly defended high-profile white-collar cases and conducted internal investigations.  O’Brien plans to continue his white collar and investigatory practice at Ellis George, as well as to return to his roots of trying cases in the courtroom.  O’Brien becomes the second former U.S. Attorney at Ellis George, joining former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California, Joseph Russoniello.
